Dog in crate abandoned alongside road in 90-degree heat

Police in in Dedham, Massachusetts, are hoping to find the person who abandoned a dog alongside a road in 90-degree heat on July 23. The Dedham Police Department has reached out to the public for help with the animal cruelty case:

Further information obtained reveals that the dog was found inside this crate, on the side of the road, around noontime, when the temperature outside was near or at 90 degrees. Inside the crate with the dog, was a blanket and a sweater.
Please share these photos – we really need some answers as to who may have left the dog and the circumstances surrounding it.

According to the police, the dog was found around noon near Bussey Street in Dedham. Officer Deni Goldman said:

“I want people to understand this is not okay. I know the dog will be okay down the road because we’ll make sure of that. But finding someone who would actually go to the extent they did to do this to an animal — I want some justice.”

According to NBC Boston, the dog is currently in the care of the local Animal Rescue League. Anyone with information is asked to call animal control at 781-751-9106.
