An adorable dog named Lady is growing weary of kennel life at the Los Angeles Animal Services – West Valley Shelter, where she has been held since December 2020. The five-year-old dog is a favorite of staff and volunteers, and those who know her ache for her growing loneliness and despair.

The non-profit organization, Outta the Cage, writes:

It’s tough seeing her in her kennel, since she knows many of the staff and volunteers and gets excited when she thinks she’s getting out. She’s tired of kennel life.

Describing her perky demeanor when she gets to leave the kennel and enjoy the play area:

We spent time with Lady in the play yard and she was happy and fun. Then we put the pink sweater on her (thanks, Salli Sammut!) and she immediately became more spunky, like it was a holiday!
Lady is house trained, easy to leash, and knows basic commands.

Staff hopes to see Lady be the “only dog” in the home of her adopter…and somewhere out there is the person who has the ideal situation for her. Hopefully that person will be found soon. The agency writes:

West Valley shelter is just opening back up and has many long-term stay dogs. They have already euthanized a few. Let’s not let that happen to Lady.

Will you please help Lady find an adopter to save her life?
