At the Palm Springs Animal Shelter, two bonded siblings are hoping the right family will soon offer them a home. Their physical needs make them unique – both Artemis and Hera who are sisters, were born with a genetic abnormality that has affected both their sight and their hearing.
According to the shelter, the ten-week-old cattle dog mixes arrived with their two other siblings who have already found their forever homes, however Artemis and Hera are special needs little ones.
“These special needs sisters both have genetic eye issues that have resulted in one of the girls being completely blind and the other with limited sight. Both puppies are deaf. These puppies are bonded and will need to go to a home together. It has been amazing to see how Hera has become her sister’s guide dog helping her find her way through the world.”
Both puppies are very dependent on each other, but otherwise act just like active and happy little ones who love to play.
