Old man fell into well while saving his cat and his dog rescued him

In Chennai, India, an 80-year-old man accidentally fell into a well when he slipped off his ladder trying to save one of his cats. And – bells and lights please – the man was saved by the efforts of his dog.

According to the Indian Express, identified the man, a retired professor named PN Tyres  lives on the ground floor of an apartment building where his son lives one story above. The senior lives with his cats and dogs, and on Wednesday one of the cats fell into a well nearby. The man heard the cat’s meows and went outside to rescue the kitty in distress.

Tyres tied a ladder to a rope and dropped it down. He then called to the cat who obeyed him and followed the older gentleman up the ladder, but suddenly Tyres slipped and fell into the well pulling the ladder out.

And so the cat left, but the dogs stayed and noticed their human had fallen into the well – the dogs started barking loudly and ran up the stairs to the Tyres’ son. Soon medics and emergency rescue showed up to help. Fortunately there had only been about three-feet of water in the well, and the man is expected to make a full recovery.

How about those dogs?
