A tortured dog in Ecorse, Michigan was so desperate to escape the abuse inflicted upon her, she broke her teeth while chewing on the chain which would ultimately set her free. A $1,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) who burned and tortured her.
The Animal Resource Funding Foundation rescued the small, black mixed breed dog on Monday. The sweet dog, now named Destiny, has burn marks all over her body – either from cigarettes, firecrackers or chemical burns. She’s emaciated and her ribs prominently stick out from beneath her thinning coat.
“We are putting up a $1,000 reward leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for this horrendous abuse. She was found in the City of Ecorse . Please call the Ecorse Police Department at 313-381-0900. All of her teeth are broken, most likely from trying to break away from her chain.
And we now call her……….Destiny,” the organization posted on their Facebook page.
Veterinarians estimate Destiny’s age to be about four, and photos of her painful and battered body have gone viral with animal advocates enraged that any dog could be mistreated so badly. She is currently in the care of Dr. Lucretia Greer at the Woodhaven Animal Hospital.
