Police in Baltimore County are asking for the public’s help finding the man suspected of beating a small dog to death with two large glass bottles after the dog allegedly bit him on the hand earlier this year.
According to WbalNews, Jerome Irvin Luedtke, 33, is facing aggravated animal cruelty charges after authorities say he struck a small Chihuahua named Ginger with the glass bottles after she bit his hand on January 13. Luedtke and a woman brought the injured dog to a veterinarian for emergency treatment, however the dog’s injuries were so severe, she died a short time later.
The emergency veterinarian staff contacted police after the story Luedtke told and the woman told were conflicting concerning the dog’s severe head injuries.
Police have not been able to locate Luedtke since a warrant was issued for his arrest on January 29. Anyone with information is asked to contact Precinct 11’s Essex Investigative Services Unit at 410.887.0230.
