In Hawk Run, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, a four-year-old mastiff, shot in the face at close range, was found lying on the doorstep of a home . It is believed the dog was shot sometime Monday night and Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Facebook page of One Dog at a Time (ODAAT) the organization has taken charge of the dog’s care after the owner surrendered her:

“FOUND SHOT in Clearfield County!!
Dog was found on Whitman Street Hawk Run PA.
This is an active cruelty investigation. We are unable to say anything until we are able to confirm with PSP. This extremely sweet, docile girl we affectionately named Lottie after her finder, will require extensive surgery and will remain inpatient at Metzger Animal Hospital on fluids and pain meds. She was anemic and shocky when she arrived at the vets. She has broken off and shattered teeth that will need removed, as well as a lot of shrapnel that they must retrieve. Any that is left in her face, jaw and neck could become problematic causing infection and she will require more surgeries in the future.”

Rescue volunteer Lynda Lamb transported Lottie to the veterinarian office where the dog underwent surgery and is now recovering.

  1. Please update us on both Lottie’s progress and progress on the police investigation into this attempted murder & torture. The female owner “surrendered” her pup, eh? Some One needs to pay all medical expenses, while serving time in the free hotel!

  2. Did the owner do this or was it the result of dog fighting that he lost? Hope he survives his surgeries and get adopted by a loving family.

  3. what evil lurks on the streets of Pennsylvania? I pray they find this monster.
I pray for this sweet dog to heal and find a great forever home.
