In a meltdown at a restaurant in Delaware, the woman who exploded into an angry rant about a veteran’s service dog this week now blames “racial slurs” for the reason she went ballistic, and says she and her family are now being harassed. The woman involved in the confrontation, Ciara Miller, in her rant that went viral, involved Army National Guard veteran Bill Austin and his Great Dane service dog JP – they had been dining at the restaurant when the woman screamed about the dog in front of Austin and his family.
“I’m leaving because the food is nasty and there’s a dog,” Miller yelled.
Immediately an employee defended Austin and the service dog JP -who helps his owner struggle with PTSD and wakes the veteran up when his past battles reoccur in frightening nightmares:
“He’s alive because he fought for our country,” the employee answered back to the irate woman.
According to Miller, the dog was as tall as the table and the visual bothered her she told FoxNews:
“The dog’s body was about the same height as the table. Basically, the butt was sitting in front of me at the table,”
And because of the visual, Ciara said she couldn’t eat, but while she was leaving, however she stated a woman approached her and used a racial slur. According to Ciara, other customers joined in, and therefore she felt justified in how she acted. It is interesting to note however there are no racial slurs in the video, nor did Ciara even allude to anything while going off on the crowd.
Ciara did admit to TMZ she has family members who served in the military with PTSD, and yes she understands the need for service dogs but does not approve of the dogs in restaurants.
