Bull escapes slaugherhouse, then dies after being captured

A bull, who managed to escape from a slaughterhouse in Queens, New York, led police on a wild chase which lasted for several hours on Tuesday. For hours, the terrified animal desperately eluded capture, but he was shot repeatedly with tranquilizers while trying to maintain his freedom. According to NBC New York News, not long after officials finally captured him, he died.

The wild chase began after the bull escaped from a slaughterhouse on Beaver Road – for miles, the rogue bull ran through city streets and finally, wound up in someone’s yard. According to ABC 7 News, after finally being cornered and captured, the bull was taken to an animal care center in Brooklyn – he was dead upon arrival.

According to ABC 7 News, the bull was repeatedly struck with darts containing Ketaset (a tranquilizer) as well as a syringe of Xylazine. The exact cause of the bull’s death has not yet been determined.

The bull died from an overdose of tranquilizer and stress! He escaped from the slaughter house and ended up being killed anyway! That to me is a very sad statement on the life of an animal who just wanted to live! There it is the sad life of an animal raised for human consumption!

Very well said!! Also extremely sad and very disturbing. They are smart enough and have feelings enough to fight for their lives. They deserve to live.

I saw this on the news and it was sad to watch knowing the reason why he escaped. I recall some nitwit who owns a farm said that farm animals were not aware that they would be slaughtered. I say BULLSHIT!

It’s ashame that inhuman are so controlling. I am quite sure if he survived someone would have taken it to a farm. Certainly an overdose of tranquilizer and most cops do not like animals and will shoot them especially dogs.

Heartbreaking! They should have let the poor bull calm down and let the tranquilizers work instead of repeatedly shooting him with them and then let him live his life out in a pasture! Rip poor bull you should have been allowed to live!

the majority of folks don’t have the faintest idea how to handle animals. i.e: idiot parents buy a cute pup, for their kids, not, the pup is from the herding group, the pup nips the kids, either it goes on a chain the backyard or to the shelter. dumb parents.
