Mississippi woman arrested for having ‘unnatural’ sex with a dog

A 43-year-old woman in Mississippi was arrested this week for allegations that she engaged in “unnatural” intercourse with a dog. According to Tuesday’s publication of the Clarion-Ledger, the woman accused of bestiality is identified as Amy Nicole Graves of Hattiesburg.

Graves’ offensive acts were discovered after Lamar County Sheriff’s officials received a tip about a video circulating on social media showing the alleged behavior. Sheriff Danny Rigel is quoted in the Daily Mail about the evidence received, “We got some visual documentation off social media that led to a search warrant and arrest warrant.”

Graves has been booked into the Lamar County Jail – if she is found guilty, she could have to register as a sex offender and might spend up to ten years behind bars.

While acts of bestiality are somewhat rare, they happen more often than one might imagine. In January, a sheriff’s deputy in Texas was fired after it was discovered that he had “sex with a small dog.” And not long ago, a Florida man was arrested after an investigation revealed that he had been sexually abusing a family dog for “years.”

Harris County deputy accused of having sex with a small dog

A Texas sheriff’s deputy was fired on Monday after having been arrested and charged with having sex with a small dog and posting the act on the Internet. Harris County Sheriff Deputy Andrew C. Sustaita, Jr., a six-year-veteran, was identified as the suspect during an investigation headed by the Harris County Sheriff’s High Tech Crime Unit.

According to the Chron, the investigation started after authorities were contacted about obscene material sourced back to an account in Harris County. Evidence revealed Sustaita allegedly had been producing the videos and then posting the egregious acts online. A video of Sustaita having sex with a small dog was specifically cited:

“The allegation involves production of obscene material that includes sexual contact with a dog,” stated Dane Schiller, a Harris County District Attorney’s Office spokesperson.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez fired the deputy and states he will hold Sustaita accountable for the egregious acts.

“The possession of obscene and illicit material is made even more troubling when a Sheriff’s Office employee is found to be involved,” Gonzalez stated. “Every resource of this office will be dedicated to protecting the public and holding our employees accountable for wrongdoing.”

AbcNews reports Sustaita comes from a family of law enforcement officers. He has been charged with obscenity, a state jail felony. Investigators said additional charges could be filed at a later date.

Arrested: Man accused of sexually abusing family dog for years

A man from Pensacola faces charges of bestiality after a member of the family reported ongoing abuse to the family dog. On Monday, Bradley Jean Hubbard, 23,  was arrested and charged with sexually abusing a bull dog mix named “Baby Girl.” According to the News Journal, Hubbard has resided with his father and his father’s girlfriend for the last three years.

A family member reported the disturbing situation after telling authorities she had witnessed the suspect take the dog into his room. The woman told police the assaults had been happening for years and had gone on more than 100 times. She stated she had witnessed the attacks through a hole in the man’s bedroom door as the result of a past violent outburst.

The woman described the dog whimpering in pain, and that the frequency of the sexual assaults had recently increased prompting the woman to notify police fearing the dog’s safety. When ever anyone would ask about the dog’s physical symptoms, Hubbard told them “Baby Girl” was in heat. She said she finally had enough, when on December 28, Hubbard allegedly came into her bedroom, grabbed the dog and took her into his bedroom after which she heard the dog crying out in pain and said she couldn’t take it any longer.

Baby Girl has since been removed from the home, and a veterinarian examination shows her genitalia abused consistent with rape. The report states the dog is very aggressive and only loyal to one person at a time. Can anyone blame her? In 2011, Florida passed a bestiality law. Read more here.

Hubbard remains at the Escambia County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bond. He faces charges of engaging in sexual conduct with an animal and causing pain and suffering.
