Just three months ago, Ophelia was adopted from the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center in California. On Wednesday, the four-year-old Labrador retriever was returned because she was “too big and I want a smaller one,” the owner told the shelter staff.
Ophelia is spayed, black and needs a home. A shelter volunteer was nearly brought to tears.
“The way he carried her in was even worse. Someone please come give this poor terrified girl a real loving home so this never happens to her again! At 4-years-old, was she that much smaller 3 months ago?…”

An adopted dog’s first gift
Having a great time!
Is he STUPID or JUST PLAIN INSANE?! DOESN’T DESERVE THIS BEAUTIFUL SWEETHEART!
he’s both and more
You do not “deserve” a buddy. You selfish SOB. You don’t return a life like a moldy piece of bread. Oh wait. Maybe she should trade your ass in for a real human. Just saying. You should never have another !!!!!
Where is this dog located I have a chocolate lab that’s 12 years old if you can get this dog to me I would be more than willing to take it

She’s “too big and I want a smaller one,”? I hope to God they didn’t let this POS adopt another “smaller” dog! Dollars to Donuts the “smaller” dog will have something else wrong with it and be returned in a couple of weeks too. Whoever adopted her knew what size she was there is no excuse for this!
People are monsters. How dare u treat a beautiful dog like that. Too Picky and selfish to take care of it. I am never baffled by how ignorant Low life humans are. Im tired of seeing and hearing stories like this. I only wish the dog gets a nice home very soon.
Is it true that she was given back to the person that surrendered her?
How is she with other dogs? And kids?
Is this beautiful girl still there? Do we know how she is with dogs and cats? Thank you!!
