In Norwalk, California at the Holifield Park, three tiny puppies had been abandoned and left in a milk crate. A Good Samaritan had been walking by and spotted the puppies; he thought he had been helping them by taking them out of the crate.

The moment the puppies were freed, the two smallest puppies ran across a busy busy street and hid in the bushes. The third puppy stayed behind, sitting quietly by the milk crate and possibly hoping his owner would soon return.

A kind woman saw what had just happened and reached out to Suzette Hall, founder of the nonprofit animal rescue Logan’s Legacy 29, asking for help. Upon her arrival, the two puppies who had fled, were deep in the bushes, terrified and shaking. It took time to reassure them she was there to help, as she slowly crawled under the bushes to capture them. The puppies were so young, so small and so incredibly frightened.

Then the team went back for the third puppy who had stayed behind at the park.

It was one of the sweetest things I’ve ever seen. The second he saw us coming back with his brothers, he ran straight toward us and jumped right into Tara’s arms. It was like he knew… his friends were safe and they were all going to be rescued together.
It is not known if they were dumped Saturday night or early Sunday morning. What we do know is that these parks are full of coyotes. These tiny babies left in a milk crate never stood a chance out there alone.

But tonight… they are safe.
And I promise them this — they will get everything they need.
