At the Genesee County Animal Control located in Flint, Michigan, the staff and volunteers want to remind anyone with a missing pet NOT to give up. Just this week, a missing loved canine companion named Queen was reunited with her family.

Queen accidentally escaped from her home in November 2024, and her family searched everywhere. They hung posters with the dog’s photos, repeatedly called all of the local shelters and enlisted the help of their friends and family. Sadly, there had been no sightings of Queen.

It is not known if Queen had been taken in by another family during the brutal winter weather, but just last week, the dog was spotted running into the abandoned Civic Park Elementary School in Flint by an animal control officer. The officer followed the dog into the building and was able to safely capture her.
And then came the good news! The dog was brought back to the shelter, and when scanned, she had a microchip enabling her family to be notified.

Completely surprised, Queen’s family rushed to the shelter to be reunited with their senior, brindle pooch.
Happy tails and tears all around!
Check out the happy reunion. Reminding you “tears of joy” and that’s the best! (Note: In order to view Facebook Wathc videos, you must have a Facebook page. We apologize for any inconvenience and have included numerous screenshot photos via the video to show everyone the joyous reunion.
This situation brings awareness to two very special reminders:
Microchipping your pets is extremely important. You can get this done at your vet office for a very affordable price.
Never stop searching or lose hope when it comes to a missing pet.
Welcome home Queen.
