A tourist and his 11-year-old son waded into the ocean of the Australian coast on Tuesday to help rescue a 10-foot Great White Shark that had been stranded in the shallow waters near the beach.
According to The Advertiser, Nash Cole had been at the beach close to the town of Ardrossan in South Australia with his family when he saw people surrounding the shark that had been stuck in the sandbank in the shallow water. Using a drone to film the once in a lifetime experience, Cole’s 11-year-old son, Parker, entered the water with his dad and waded out to see the shark not far from land.
No doubt Cole had some doubts about helping the shark, wondering if he was going to be attacked. Young Parker was also frightened, but by the time father and son were at the spot to help, three mean had used crab rakes to push the shark into the deeper waters.
ABC Radio Adelaide reported the shark never turned around as if to attack and allowed the men to gently push it towards the deeper water. From all reports, the shark was indeed very tired, but managed to swim away.
Hoping the shark one day remembers humans helped him out.
