On June 25, Lana was brought to the Carson Animal Shelter in California after she had been attacked by either a coyote or another wild animal. The three-year-old, playful terrier wore no collar or identification. She did not have a microchip. Therefore, it was not possible to know if she had been vaccinated for rabies.

Regulations as directed by the Health Department of California required Lana to be quarantined for six-months. During this time, she has not had any interaction with other dogs and very few humans – as not to take any chances concerning the possible spread of rabies or any infectious disease.
And now for the good news. Lana’s feeling fine!

Her quarantine ends on Christmas Day. Volunteers at the shelter tell us she will be groomed and bathed and surely, she will be ready for lots of love. She will be in need of a home as soon as possible.
Volunteers who have been involved in her long six-month quarantine journey tell us how sweet Lana is. Are you interested in meeting her?
Check out her video. She does love to play.
