Two little male dogs had been dumped at a park on the outskirts of Los Angeles in late October; they were scared, confused and shaking. Neither dog knew why they had been left behind. Fortunately, a Good Samaritan had spotted the two dogs huddled together in an old dog house, but when the kind woman tried to coax them out to help, they growled and snarled out of abject fear.

The tiny dogs had been trying to fend for themselves for days.

Independent rescuer, Suzette Hall had already been called to help, and when she arrived, she saw how they trembled and tried to bite out of pure fear.

It broke my heart. But with patience, calm voices, and gentle hands, I finally got slip leads around them and lifted them into my arms.
By the time Hall arrived at the vet, everything had changed. They looked up at Hall with trust in their eyes. The fear was gone, and they had no desire at all to bite; rather it was time for gentle kisses and cuddles. They knew they were safe.

Let’s fast forward to this week in a December update:
We wrapped them in love, we got them to my vet, and they received every single thing they needed — from medical care to warm beds, full bellies, and gentle hands.
And now… they’ve received the greatest gift of all. Both dogs have been adopted, and they are truly being adored. Instead of having to huddle in the darkest spot at a lonely park, they will be curled up in warm homes with warm beds and families of their own.

Congratulations Charlie and Chevy; these are two boys who survived, who held on, and who now get forever love.

Many thanks to everyone who support these miraculous rescues.
