Heartwarming: 3 baby raccoons rescued from Chase Center wall in San Francisco

Officers from San Francisco Animal Care and Control are heroes to three tiny baby raccoons that had been stuck in a wall at the Chase Center.

On Monday, Steph Ryer was able to rescue the first two babies, but the third one was stuck by its head. Officer Keefe and Officer in Training Borg changed the baby’s body position and was able to pull the tile piece out as far as possible. Together the officers were able to free the baby.

All three are now with our partner Yggdrasil Urban Wildlife Rescue. The Yggdrasil Urban Wildlife Rescue (YUWR) and Education Center is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization serving the San Francisco Bay Area in California since 2001. The organization is dedicated to the rehabilitation of orphaned and injured wildlife living in urban city centers and education of the public about how to live harmoniously with our cities’ wildlife.

The YUWR hotline, (510) 421 9897, is available for referrals and advice on animals in need throughout the Bay Area.

Many thanks to the heroes who become the voices for those who cannot speak.
