It was a happy reunion for a man and his dog on Sunday afternoon at the Stray Rescue of St. Louis. Employees at a St. Louis Auto Repair had spotted a little dog roaming around their property.
The kind employees were able to capture the little pup and bring her to Stray Rescue to check for a microchip.
BEEP! She had one.
And then there was more good fortune; the number on the microchip worked, and a man answered. Yes, it was his dog that had been missing for a year and one month. The man could barely control his enthusiasm, and although he was on his way to work, he had to make a most important detour to Stray Rescue of St. Louis.
I’m on my way to work but…oh my god I can’t even think about that right now. I’m on my way!
Not long after the amazing phone call, the man walked into the shelter, and when the staff brought the dog out, her tail went into overdrive wagging (as described 1,000,000 miles per minute). The two were reunited, and it’s almost a total guarantee this sweet pup will never go missing again.
These two were so happy to be back together.
What’s the message here? Make sure your pets are microchipped, and your info is up to date!! Miracles happen! Microchips work.
NEVER GIVE UP!
