Meet sweet, friendly and gorgeous DAKOTA. This two-year-old Siberian husky and shepherd mix with the mesmerizing eyes, is one of the NICEST dogs who is at South LA shelter which is one of the most overcrowded and deadly shelters in Los Angeles, California.
Dakota is currently nursing her puppies and when volunteers arrived at the shelter, she looked into the camera practically smiling. Only 30 minutes after arriving at the shelter Dakota went into labor and whelped six adorable and healthy puppies.
Her “parent” never came to get her or the puppies.
She is a good mom as per the volunteers and staff. She lets you handle her puppies and is just delightful herself, but she’s just a youngster herself. It brings tears to everyone’s eyes.
The shelter has put out email pleas, and they sincerely want this special family out. They are listed as rescue only because the puppies are only four weeks old. Dakota and her puppies are susceptible to the rampant disease that is in all shelters. Dakota has gone through that, and she has some soft stool and an upper respiratory that is being treated by the shelter.
