Homeless man who rescued litter of abandoned puppies left heartfelt note at shelter

In Fayetteville, North Carolina, a shelter told its supporters about an anonymous homeless man who recently delivered a litter of tiny puppies to the front steps of the Fayetteville Animal Protection Society with a heartfelt note.

It had been a homeless man who wrote the note and wanted the puppies to have a chance at good lives after their mother, who the man had been feeding, had been hit and killed by a car. The man knew the dog had recently given birth to a litter of puppies and searched the entire area to find them.

I’m sorry for leaving them like this, but i myself am homeless and cannot afford to care for them. My heart shatters for them and their mother.

i just want them to be given the chance their mother, like myself, was never given.

The shelter stressed how this kind man took it upon himself to make sure these puppies would have a chance at good lives, and invited the man to come and visit the puppies at the shelter. The staff thanked the man for his compassionate act “wherever you are.”

At this time, the puppies are too young to be adopted.
