Pepper’s situation is awful, and it’s understandable many people feel helpless. The good news is there are things we all can do to help. This friendly, adorable senior is 14-years-old and weighs 14 pounds.

  • Pepper is a senior dog at North Central Animal Care in Los Angeles. She is scheduled for euthanasia on Friday, March 8th, at 4 PM. Pepper needs medical attention for dental issues and masses. Despite her hardships, she’s described as a loving and affectionate dog.
  • Here are some ways to help:
  1. Share Pepper’s story: Spread the word on social media or local forums using #A2127866 to increase Pepper’s chances of adoption.
  2. Contact North Central Animal Care: Call them at 1-888-452-7381 and inquire about adopting Pepper. Mention her ID #A2127866.
  3. Search for rescues: Look for rescue organizations in the Los Angeles area that specialize in senior dogs. They might be able to take Pepper in and provide her with the care she needs.
  4. Donate to a rescue organization: Even if you can’t adopt Pepper yourself, donating to a rescue organization can help them provide care for dogs like Pepper.
  5. Pepper’s Adoption Listing:
  6. A2127866
  7. Located At: Los Angeles Animal Services – North Central Shelter
  8. Description: My name is Pepper and I am an unaltered female, black and white Mixed Breed.
  9. Age: The shelter staff think I am about 14 years old.
  10. Weight: I weigh approximately 14 pounds.
  11. More Info: I have been at the shelter since Mar 03, 2024.
  12. If you choose to adopt this animal, you must have him or her examined by your veterinarian within 24 hours. Further veterinary care WILL be required at your expense.
  13. Pepper was found wandering the streets. She clearly has never had veterinary care. Her teeth are a disaster, but that’s not the main issue right now. She has a large pendulous mass in her inguinal region that can partly be seen in the photo; she also has a smaller one in her left axillary area.
  14. Volunteers describe Pepper as a “DOLL BABY.” She solicits treats and affection from the people she meets.
  15. It’s important to act quickly as Pepper’s deadline is approaching. By sharing her story and contacting the shelter or rescue organizations, you can significantly increase her chances of finding a loving home.
