In an emergency plea, a nearby Texas shelter asked Dallas Dog – Rescue.Rehab.Reform if they would help with the fate of a young dog so neglected, it’s quite possible he had never been bathed or groomed his entire life. Picked up as a stray, the shelter staff evaluated the dog and released him to the rescue organization for medical treatments.

This was his condition when picked up by Animal Control:

…His entire body is one blanket of mats. Dreadlocks filled with stickers and ear hair 5 inch long dreadlock. Skin is raw from the severe matting.

Covered in fleas and ticks and stool embedded inside the mats he was unable to evacuate his bowels.

A volunteer in the south’s first order of business was to bathe and cut off the endless mats of misery and suffering. The poodle mix is now named Scooby Roo, and according to volunteers, he is friendly.

He now needs a foster as he arrives in Dallas.
