In East Los Angeles, every day a tiny senior would sit in the street staring at every car that passed by. Neighbors said the dog had been waiting more than a month for his owner to return, except that was not to be ever again. His human left him behind on purpose. At night, the little guy and loyal friend would retreat to the back of his old home and sleep in an old carboard box strewn amid the trash.

A Good Samaritan had been trying to capture the dog; afraid he would be hit and injured or killed by a passing car, but the scared dog would flee and visibly shaking would hide behind the boarded-up house. Other neighbors left food and water for him, but no one wanted to take him in.

It was Suzette Hall, founder of  Logan’s Legacy 29, who was called to help; Suzette is well known and so successful helping the most elusive dogs needing help.

“While he waited hoping they would come back, they didn’t look back. But he waited. Poor baby shaking so much. So Sad. So lonely. All he had was that box. He never got to say goodbye to the only family he ever knew.

Check out the video. This is where he once may have called home?

Volunteers worked very hard to get this little senior safe. When he was finally captured, he obviously had not been accustomed to anyone holding him, and he trembled from head to toe. But Hall and the dedicated volunteers and Good Samaritans who aided in this heartbreaking rescue, are now assured this dog will never be left alone again, will receive the best of care and hopefully find a new home soon where he will be loved and cherished.

For now, he will be checking into the rescue organization’s veterinarian for a checkup and for any medical needs he has.
