UPDATE: Adopted! Thanks for helping Ace –
It had more than likely been a lifetime of love and devotion for a 10-year-old German shepherd who has now been scheduled to be euthanized on July 29 – next Saturday. Ace is a black and tan senior who arrived at San Bernardino Animal Services on June 27, 2023 as a stray, but his family never came looking for him. It would seem Ace’s precious loyalty towards his family was not reciprocal.
Ace shares his kennel with another dog, and the two have become friends. Sadly, the other dog (A557217 Jon Jones) has also been “deadlined” because of his age also.
Here is what a volunteer reported:
ace is great with staff handling him. no fear or aggression. aged and possibly arthritic. needs ortho consult. no issues with roommate. eat together, lay together. ace is very smart and they deadline him?
