Charlie, Lucky and Lulu were rescued from hot cars at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts and were given life saving treatment of water and cooling fans.
According to MassLive, the popular concert began at 7:00 in the evening on Thursday. Temperatures were still in the low 80s with high humidity levels according to the Mansfield Police Department.
The three dogs had been left alone in cars with no water or ventilation available while their owners attended the concert. Officers on bicycles and attentive citizens spotted the dogs. Officers gave them water and used cooling fans at the Roland Smart Safety Compound. The dogs were transferred to Tufts Veterinary Emergency Services to be examined. All three of the dogs were in good health.
“Thanks to alert and compassionate passers-by, officers were able to respond quickly, remove the distressed animals from hot cars that did not have water or adequate ventilation, and transport them to Tufts in Walpole for evaluation after receiving water and a seat in front of our cooling fans in the public safety compound,” the department wrote.

The names of the owners of the dogs have not been released, but are facing animal cruelty charges for confining an animal in a motor vehicle with exposure to extreme levels of heat. The police later installed electronic signs on South Main Street and the interstate warning concert attendees that leaving pets in their cars would not be tolerated.

And why does anyone take their dog to a concert in the first place. Do they really think the dog enjoys sitting in a hot car while you go listen to music? Thank goodness the dogs were spotted by the police and bystanders before there was a tragic outcome. Some people don’t deserve to have a pet.
