In the northwest area of Miami-Dade, a young teen is mourning the death of her two-year-old dog after a Miami-Dade Police officer shot the dog during a landlord-tenant dispute. The action has triggered an internal investigation.
According to Channel7News, the 14-year-old girl and her aunt, Dunia Mota, stated their landlord had come over to their home with an eviction notice. The young girl was home with her dog, Chaos, and when the officer arrived she tried to put her barking dog in another room. She asked the officer to wait outside the door until she could move the dog away, but at some point the officer opened the door to her house and shot the dog in front of her.
The young girl had been standing only a few feet away when the officer opened fire. When she was finally allowed to take her dog to an emergency veterinarian, the two-year-old dog was too severely injured and had to be humanely euthanized.
It is distressing for all involved anytime an officer discharges their firearm. We care about each of our community members, including our pets, and will maintain our stance on transparency throughout this investigation.

Chaos had been with the family since he was just a few weeks old. He had no record of ever having been vicious or aggressive, and now one little girl no longer has her best friend – her dog.

The police and landlord owe this family counseling costs, a new dog (NO, nothing can restore a murder victim to life), but for their stupidity, this family lost their precious furbaby…….
