Two Tampa Police Department officers are being congratulated for their bravery, their love of animals and we can only assume – their excellent eyesight. While patrolling the area during the height of Hurricane Ian ravaging the area with sustained winds and overwhelming flooding, the officers spotted a soaking wet kitten in the middle of Florida Avenue. Needless to say the kitten was panicky.

The officers left their squad car and picked up the frightened little kitten and welcomed her into their squad car. They then drove her to Veterinary Emergency Group where she was dried, checked and of course – cuddled to shoo away all those bad memories. The officers wanted to name the kitten Ian, but after finding out, the kitten is a female – settled on the adorable name of Stormie.

And did I mention… that within an hour, Stormie found her new family and they adopted her.

Many thanks to our compassionate police officers. You guys are simply the best! Stop by the department’s Facebook page and give these officers a well-deserved “attaboy.”
