Los Angeles, CA – A sweet, hearing-impaired dog has been languishing at a city animal shelter for more than a year…seemingly forgotten in the shelter system. The dog, named Milo, is a favorite among staff and volunteers at the Los Angeles Animal Services facility, but adopters seem to be disinterested in Milo’s charm.

An advocate writes:

But I’m sending this email in earnest about a dog – a special needs dog – that’s been abandoned and forgotten. His name is MILO. Although he’s been kept alive for a very long time, his living environment for more than a year has been a cold wet moldy narrow concrete cell.

Milo

Adding:

No bed. No dry spot. Not even a towel to lay on. He’s been shuffled from one
facility to another and spent more than an entire year on cold hard concrete DEAF and
UNABLE to HEAR what’s going on around him. AND NOW – HEARTBREAKINGLY –
HE’S URGENT AND LIVING ON BORROWED TIME.

According to the people who have met Milo, he is smart, attentive, and playful and he knows many hand signals. But the loneliness of living in a solitary kennel run is taking its toll. His advocate said:

He lights up the play yard when he’s outside, but looks so very despondent
and depressed when visited in his kennel. How would anyone feel in Milo’s shoes? His eyes
tell the whole heart – breaking story.

Please help Milo break free from the shelter system. Help him find a home and family to enjoy the holidays with. You can assist by sharing his adoption information!

  1. I hope someone local can open up their heart and house for this precious treasure. He should be with a loving furever family who will treat him as a beloved family member for his entire life,
