On Saturday, rescuers had been called out to an area in San Bernardino after a Good Samaritan reported several dogs in the area had just been abandoned. Sadly, one of the young dogs that had been spotted the previous day had been struck and killed by a car.

While searching for the abandoned dogs, one of the rescuers heard a puppy crying from a tent, and when volunteers with Faith Easdale arrived early that evening found the puppy.

We found the tent, empty or abandoned and there was a puppy left inside chained up, alone all day at least.

Local residents told Faith that large coyotes in the area would have found the puppy; lucky little frightened pooch was rescued. He was dehydrated and starving, but not for long as his immediate needs were attended to quickly.

Thank you Saving Shelter Souls for stepping up to help. He will be receiving de-wormer, flea/tick treatment, bathed, vaccinated chipped and neutered.

  1. I am very happy that this precious little treasure is safe with good people and is getting the veterinary care he needs.

Whoever abandoned him has a reserved space in the hottest part of Hell where they will burn forever for their cruelty.

Completely wrong to leave this helpless puppy chained up to be attacked by coyotes…….. whoever did this clearly has no idea how devastating it is to lose a furbaby to coyotes (my neighbors can fill them in as well as my other neighbors who lost their Jack Russell to an eagle)…….. predators see our furbabies as “free food” and it’s heartbreaking……. There is NO need to encourage them to attack furbabies by leaving them chained up (no way to even try to escape)……
