Berlin, Germany– A massive aquarium holding 1,500 exotic fish has burst in Berlin. The 82-foot AquaDom is in the Radisson Blu Hotel, and it held a million liters of water; early Friday morning, it burst. The cylindrical aquarium was the largest of its kind in the entire world, and when the structure failed, the tsunami of water left the surrounding area looking like a war zone.

Destruction around AquaDom

Guests staying at the hotel were evacuated as a safety precaution; two people suffered slight injuries, but all of the tropical fish perished. It is unclear what caused the structure to fail; there is speculation that cold temperatures cracked the acrylic.
