In Wilmington, California, a man was recorded on video stealing a French bulldog from his home. “King” was stolen on April 27 from the front yard of his family’s home in the 700 block of C Street according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The home surveillance video showed the man leaning over the fence and snatching up King and then immediately fleeing on a skateboard. Later that day, authorities arrested the suspect, but the man told police he had already sold the dog to a stranger for $20 after approaching him in the parking lot of a hardware store. The suspect stated he told the man he had just found the dog and didn’t have the means to care for him, but would be grateful if the stranger would give the dog a good home.

According to AbcNews, police say the individual who purchased the dog did not commit a crime and hopes that person will do the right thing and return the dog to his rightful owner.

Anyone with information or who recognizes the dog, is asked to contact LAPD Officer Davenport at 310.726.7845 or LAPD Harbor Station at 310.726.7701. If preferred, contact Crime Stoppers at 800. 222.8477 or https://www.lacrimestppers.org.

Please share King’s story and help this dog and family be reunited.
