Oklahoma City, OK – On March 19, witnesses contacted the police after seeing 43-year-old Michael Owen Beavers beating his own dog. As reported by KFOR 4 News, Beavers was allegedly “carrying the dog by its throat, dragging the dog on the streets and beating the dog.”
Details provided by the two witnesses reveal abhorrent abuse – the police were told that Beavers ran over his dog with a bicycle, strangled the dog, and picked her up by its collar, in addition to punching and kicking her. The pit bull was taken to Oklahoma City Animal Welfare to be examined and treated for any resulting injuries. As reported by News 9, the dog appeared to be in “good condition” despite the alleged abuse.
Beavers was arrested and taken to the Oklahoma County Detention Center on two counts of animal cruelty.
