Gardena, CA – A handsome German shepherd, in the prime of his life at three years of age, is stuck in a lonely kennel run at the Los Angeles County Animal Control – Carson facility. The dog, dubbed Marlo, has been at the animal care center since November 3 and nobody has come forward to claim him as their own.

The “safe” period of stray hold time has come and gone for this gorgeous boy and now he is at the mercy of the system. A system that will allow him to be euthanized if space constraints become an issue.

Having fostered German shepherds for many years, the writer of this article can say that a three-year-old male German shepherd would be her preference for adoption. At three years of age, shepherds are past the destructive puppy stage and the often defiant “teen” stage that can linger into the second year. At three years, Marlo should be full of life, but calm. Do not be afraid to adopt an adult dog – they WILL bond with you. They WILL love you. All they need is the chance to give you their heart.

You can help Marlo find his way out of this facility by sharing his adoption information. Networking saves lives!!

  1. SUPER URGENT! PLEASE PLEASE–THEY WILL DEFINITELY KILL THIS ULTIMATE SWEETHEART WITHOUT YOUR HELP!

THIS IS A HIGH AND FAST KILL SHELTER!

  2. I just wish he was up here in Washington state😢😢😢

I see so many fantastic dogs in CA & TX that I could foster but I am “geographically undesirable”😢😢😢

  3. Such a beautiful dog; it’s truly heartbreaking that his life is on the line due to the overcrowding of shelters. It’s a mission of mine to reach as many people as possible not only to generate awareness but to work on issues such as this one. Healthy dogs, and any animal in general, should never be put at risk of losing their life because a shelter does not have enough room for them to stay. We need to work together to end kill-shelters and prevent overcrowding from happening. I sincerely hope this pup can find his furever home in time!
