On June 15, an emaciated, sickly puppy was found abandoned in a crate near a Boston, Massachusetts, cemetery. MSCPA-Angell reached out to the public for assistance on June 22, writing:

Our Law Enforcement dept. is asking for help after this emaciated five-month-old white Pit Bull puppy was found inside a crate near Walk Hill Street, near Mount Hope Cemetery in Boston on June 15.

Describing the puppy’s sickness:

“PJ” has been very sick. He was diagnosed with Parvovirus–a highly contagious and deadly virus that can lead to rapid dehydration and even death. Now in our care, PJ is receiving intravenous fluids containing electrolytes and supportive care and, as of today, is doing much better. We expect him to continue improving, and he could be available for adoption into a new home within 10 days or so.

Request for help

The animal welfare agency stated:

Our Law Enforcement is asking anyone who may know who owned PJ to call us. Right now there are no leads so we’re going to need the public’s help in determining whether an owner can be identified. Anyone with info can call 800-628-5808.
