Dog who has been at Ohio shelter for nearly 7 years looking his forever home

Meet Flip; for 2,562 days this sweet dog has been hoping to find a safe and loving home to finally call his own. And so we are asking our friends to help Flip by sharing his story with friends, family and social media contacts.

Flip is a seven-year-old pup who has been living at the Lake County Humane Society in Mentor, Ohio nearly his entire life. Through no fault of his own, he came into the rescue organization during a humane investigation from one of the partner rescue shelters. While he needs to be the only dog inside of the home, when he is outside on walks or at the park, he is a social butterfly with other dogs.

This amiable pup loves to cuddle, walks great on a leash, and on weekends when he’s in a relaxing mood, loves to stretch out on the couch for a relaxing afternoon snooze. Who doesn’t?

The perfect home for Flip will be one where his patient family will give him time to decompress and understand that it will take time for Flip to trust you. He seems to prefer being with women more than men, but his caretakers think with love and care, he will become more comfortable with men.

We know Flip’s perfect family is out there; we just need to find them, and the rescue organization has no intentions to stop trying. Sure it will be sad to see Flip leave, but it will be an even happier time when this boy finally has a home of his very own. The staff and volunteers are all in love with him, but more than anything, want Flip to be lying on his back relaxing in his very own home.
