People will offer almost any excuse to justify getting rid of their pet…from “no time,” to “barks too much,” or the all-too-common excuse that someone in the house suddenly has “allergies,” but the family who adopted a dog named Waylon came up with a unique, and rather ludicrous, reason for taking him back to the shelter.

According to the Middletown NY Humane Society, Waylon’s adoptive family didn’t like his morning and nighttime “zoomies,” so they brought him back to the shelter. In a Facebook post, the animal welfare agency explained:

Poor Waylon was just returned to our shelter for literally having the “ZOOMIES”. His new owner gave him less than 3 weeks to settle into his new home before she decided to surrender him back to out shelter. The owner stated that 95% of the time, he was great but he would run around her house in the morning and evening. We tried to explain this a normal dog activity but it then turned to a child be allergic to him.

The shelter added:

Poor Waylon is so sad being back at the shelter.

Providing all of Waylon’s wonderful attributes:

This sweet guy is housebroken, 3 yrs old, gets along with EVERY ANIMAL, dog, cat, chickens, roosters. He has been child tested and is an all around GREAT DOG!
Waylon is 70lbs of pure joy, he walks so nice on a leash and just wants to be hugged by his human.

If you are interested in meeting this special boy, please send in an application found on the shelter’s website Middletownhumanesociety.com

  1. DON’T THESE LUNATICS REALIZE THAT THEY WILL PAY “DEARLY” FOR THEIR LACK OF BRAINS AND HEARTS?! KARMA AWAITS!

ARE DONATIONS NEEDED FOR THIS ULTIMATE SWEETHEART?!

  2. Aww poor guy. I guess these people didn’t know Zoomies is a way for a dog or cat to show how happy they are and how much they love their family. A new family will come along soon Waylon and they will love your Zoomies.

  3. I wish I could help…… 3/4 of our dogs are 12 or older.

They used to do zoomies, dance a circle dance, sing “owah wowah woo” & jump up onto or bed and living room furniture………. Now we must pick them up; no more zoomies, no more singing, no more jumping up on the furniture, no more circle dances.

Our vet explained that they are all getting older and have arthritis. I am very heartsick that the “zoomies” phase in their lives is over😢😢😢

Please send this dog my way, I guarantee he will love being with us!!!
