Like most dogs, Diesel loved his owner and to Diesel, that human had been his entire world. The two were always together, that is until the worst day of Diesel’s life – his human passed away; the pup’s grief seemed unimaginable.
A family friend wanted to help out and took Diesel to his home temporarily, but Diesel didn’t understand why he had been separated from his owner and ran away – right back to his old home and managed to get back in by jumping through a window.
Sadly, Diesel’s next stop, clearly against his will, was the shelter near Sioux City, Indiana.
Saying he was terrified is an understatement. Very little eye contact and trembling in his kennel, so of course out mission was to get him out and get him settled into a foster home.
Noah’s Hope Animal Rescue
A foster home was found, and Diesel was very frightened of the other dogs in the home. With time, however and lots of love and attention, Diesel has adjusted and has even learned to play with the other dogs. This sweet boy is now available for adoption; he did very well with strangers at his last Petsmart event.
Diesel would do best in a home with older children. He loves to swim, run and hunt and loves to be near “his” person. He has not been kenneled and his fully housetrained. He has been left to free roam in the house with the other dogs and has a piece of clothing to keep himself calm while is family is gone. He has not been destructive at all.
This plot hound mix is about four-years-old, has been neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.
