Police in Crescent Township, Pennsylvania, are hoping to find whoever abandoned an emaciated dog last week. The Crescent Township Police Department recounted what a witness told them about the cruel incident, writing:

The callers stated that the dog had been in a dark, possibly blue, four-door sedan that matched the description of a possible new model Chevrolet Impala. The driver pulled into a driveway of an abandoned house and let the dog out of the car. The driver then threw a ball, which the dog chased. The vehicle then drove off.

The abandoned dog, dubbed Beans, was taken to the police station for food, water, and rest before coordination with the Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh, which helped secure veterinary care.

The authorities are hopeful that a member of the public will come forward with information about this case, and they have learned that a sizeable reward is being offered for viable tips. Chief Longerman said:

we learned a Board Member from Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh has put up a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest, prosecution, and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the cruelty toward Beans/Crescent.

Anyone with information about the dog, or this case in general, is asked to call 724-457-8100.
