Animal control picks up 16-ft snake who has been lost since July

Austin, TX – A huge snake, missing since last July, has been found and reunited with her owner. The Austin Animal Center shared the remarkable story with Facebook followers on Thursday, explaining that Snow, an albino reticulated python, had been in a tote with her owner when he was visiting Austin, and someone broke into the man’s car, stealing her.

The assumption is that the thief did not know about the massive snake inside of the tote – the animal welfare agency writes:

Back to Snow’s recent discovery. The agency explains how she was found and captured, writing:

We got a call on Monday about a giant python. Due to the temperatures the snake was lethargic enough that a couple of residents were able to catch it and keep it in their garage.
When we get calls about danger noodles, a lot of times the size of the snek is exaggerated. We get it! Spotting a nope rope in the wild can be scary. But when Officer Moorman arrived to the residence, he was indeed greeted by an unhappy 16 ft long albino reticulated python.
He also learned that the residents had been spotting this python roaming the neighborhood since JULY.

Thanks to staff members who remembered seeing a lost snake post, the agency was able to connect with Snow’s owner and make a reunion possible Not your everyday reunion!
