A 16-year-old dog’s life has just been turned upside down. The Newfoundland, named Fiona, lost her home when her family fell on hard times. Fiona’s sad plight was shared with followers of Famous Fido Rescue No Kill Advocacy Wellness & Learning Center Facebook page on Monday:
Fiona is a 16-year-old Newfoundland who is in need of a wonderful home. She has been well cared for by her current guardian, but sadly they have fallen on hard times, and now they and their three children are being evicted and have nowhere to bring Fiona with them.
It is amazing that Fiona has lived to be 16-year-old – an almost unheard-of age for a large breed dog. And it is heartbreaking to know that she will not spend the last portion of her life with the only family that she had ever known.
Personality
The rescue organization writes:
Fiona has a very sweet personality. She is good with dogs and gets along great with the family’s children. We are told that Fiona doesn’t have one mean bone in her body.
