An unlicensed dog breeder found himself in hot water after sick and dying dogs were found inside of his Las Vegas, Nevada, apartment. As reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, 28-year-old Malcolm Laster was arrested last Thursday following an investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department.

Officers found an emaciated French bulldog inside of Laster’s residence on November 25; the dog was skeletal, weighing just 13 pounds, and she was contained inside of a cage filled with excrement. Officers also found a dog inside of a closet, and another dog on a moldy porch, in addition to 13 puppies who were in poor health. One of the puppies passed away after being taken to a veterinarian for care.

According to the news agency, Laster is a registered sex offender; he is currently being held on $6,000 bail for willful and malicious torture of a dog.
