Rescuers save puppy from being suffocated by black snakes

When an area resident walked by an uprooted tree in a field, he spotted a small, stray puppy trapped under the roots and wrapped in several black snakes. The Good Samaritan admitted he was afraid of snakes, but quickly reached out to friends to help rescue the small puppy that had been making pitiful cries as the snakes pulled tighter and tighter around his tiny body.

The man who was experienced in handling snakes prodded each snake one at a time. Methodically, he pulled the snakes off the puppy’s body and placed them inside of a bag. The puppy barely moved during the entire rescue operation – it seemed as if he had just given up; his breathing becoming labored.

The entire rescue took about ten minutes, and the puppy was picked up from the hole underneath the fallen tree. He was rushed to the veterinarian to be treated for bites. It was expected the little guy would make a full recovery.
