Horrible person threw dog with untreated burns over fence into shelter yard

At the animal shelter in Greenville, South Carolina, an unknown person threw a small dog over a four-foot fence into the play yard of the shelter on Saturday night after the shelter closed. When the staff discovered her presence early the next morning and came out to bring her inside, they were shocked at the open wounds on her back. Is that why she was tossed away like trash?

She has been named Coco, and at the request of the shelter was saved by Rescue Dogs Rock NYC on Sunday morning.

911 EMERGENCY HAPPENING NOW !!

********* 911! HAPPENING NOW! **************** ******* EMERGENCY, PLEASE HELP!! ***********UPDATE: 8/2 545pm Coco (SC) is at the ER vet overnight receiving IV fluids, antibiotics and pain medication. The ER vet estimate for her overnight stay and care is $400 to $500 dollars. IN ADDITION: She is going to require surgical debridement and wound care, laser therapy and possibly physical therapy. She is heartworm positive. Luckily they did not find any broken bones. Their best guess is that this is from untreated burns! These wounds got this bad because these injuries are not new, and they werent being treated… it was preventable!! The surgical procedure estimate that was mentioned to us there was $5000 to $6000 dollars in addition to the 4 to 5 hundred. We will give her the best care possible with your help. Please see her story below as well as how to donate towards her care. New pictures are in comments of the post.************************************************************************************. Coco (SC) was found left in the play yard in this condition! Sickening! We were told she had to have been thrown over a 4ft fence since shelter was closed! That was the only way in! She is being rushed to our emergency vet as we make this post. We couldnt turn our backs on her, and we knew we could count on you for your support and would want us to help. ER vets are expensive and she needs your help!Coco remains sweet despite the horrendous, deep wounds and pain she is suffering. Coco is only 2-3 years old, still a young lady, and deserves every chance we can give to her… We dont know much more than that right now but will provide updates once we have them. In the meantime, please help us to help Coco with a donation towards her medical care. Despite the deep wounds and the intense pain she endured, Coco remained very sweet. She spent 24 hours at the emergency veterinarian hospital to get stabilized and then was transferred on Tuesday to the organization’s primary veterinarian in Georgia. She is scheduled to undergo surgery to clean and debride the massive wounds on her back. Her medical team believes she was burned and never treated, causing the wounds to expand and become infected.
