In Earl Township, Pennsylvania, a 41-year-old man was arrested on Monday evening by authorities after he allegedly slammed the family dog against a wall in his home and then severed the badly injured dog’s head with an ax.
According to the Reading Eagle, Joshua Leneweaver’s wife called police on Sunday morning after her husband supposedly killed the family’s Chihuahua. When the woman returned home from work she asked Joshua where the dog named Pip had been hiding. The man replied ” there was no more Pip.”
Later that evening after the children were asleep, Joshua told his wife he became angered when the dog wouldn’t go to the bathroom outdoors. As he reached for the scared dog under the table, Pip bit him, and the enraged man picked up the dog and slammed the defenseless animal against the wall causing severe head injuries. He then grabbed an ax and partially severed the dog’s head to kill it.
Pip’s body was later found in the garbage.
Leneweaver was sent to Berks County Prison in lieu of $2,500 bond. He has been charged with aggravated animal cruelty – a felony.
Rest in peace little one.
