Cat missing for 7 years: Reunited with owner because of a microchip

It’s a happy day at the Ventura County Animal Services. Visitors only see happy faces on this Monday afternoon at the shelter – it’s an incredible story about a cat missing for seven years reunited with his owner because of a microchip.

Meet Chebon – a handsome senior citizen tiger kitty who happens to be 19-years-old! Yes, and imagine this feline’s luck when a Good Samaritan named Gina found the cat on the side of the road in poor condition. So Gina, scooped up the ailing kitty and brought him to the Ojai Valley Animal Hospital for treatment; and that’s when they found the MICROCHIP.

Of course, there’s more to this happy story. It seems Robert, who is Chebon’s owner, had been looking for his lost cat and had even postponed moving from California to Ohio for a year hoping to find his beloved cat. Sadly, that didn’t happen,  but fast forward seven years and the following video is not one to be missed.

As soon as Robert was informed about Chebon, he flew into Los Angeles and hurried to the Ventura County Animal Services.

Adopting a pet? Why not spend a few extra moments and have a microchip inserted into your pet? It’s barely the size of a grain of rice, and just in case…

Check out the video. Sit back and relax, and don’t forget your tissues for the happiness tears – this writer promises!

This afternoon Robert and Chebon will be flying home to Ohio. Chebon may have used up one or two of his nine lives, but hey – who’s counting?
