A Tweeds Head, South Wales man faces animal cruelty charges for punching a Bull Mastiff puppy in the head with his fists – so hard that the man’s hands were bleeding. The disturbing incident occurred on Thursday in a shopping mall parking lot and had been witnessed by people who had serious concerns for the puppy’s safety.
According to the Tweed Valley Weekly, when authorities arrived they “immediately noticed the male had blood on his knuckles and that the dog had a laceration and blood around its snout.” The yet unidentified man acted aggressively towards the police, and admitted he had been angry with the dog for defecating his vehicle.
The puppy has since been in the care of the RSPCA who have stated the man will be charged with animal cruelty.
Maybe the puppy had to go for a walk? Maybe it takes awhile to house train a puppy? Maybe someone like this man should never be allowed to own a dog? Many thanks to the eyewitnesses who reported the abuse and possibly saved this puppy’s life. Be the voice for those who cannot speak.
