In Virginia Beach a man was sentenced to the maximum penalty of five years in prison after he was found guilty of felony animal cruelty for strangling and stabbing a dog to death, reports WavyNews.

Vernon Boyd Eaton, Jr. was sentenced to five years behind bars, with three years suspended. He is barred from owning a companion animal for the rest of his life.

On August 1, 2015, a Good Samaritan reported seeing a dog in the back of a pickup truck in severe distress. When the Virginia Beach Animal Control found the driver at a shopping center parked next to a dumpster, the small terrier mix had already died. The dog had several zip ties around his neck and had been stabbed. When Eaton was stopped, he had blood on his hands.

What makes the dog named Tau Tau’s story even more tragic, is Eaton had promised the dog’s owner he would find the pup a good home. Less than one hour later, Tau Tau was dead  after suffering the brutal torture. Rest in peace Tau Tau.

  1. Too bad this Puke DIDN”T SUFFER a VIOLENT DEATH TOO!!! At least he got prison time Not near enough !!! They should not have suspended any of The time!!!!

  2. The owner should sue this POS, too. I really wish he was going to spend all five years in prison. At least it’s better than most animal abusers get. Not just a slap on the wrist. RIP, sweet pup. This won’t bring you back, but it gives you justice.

  3. Dear douchebag I hope you had fun taking a poor little defenseless animal out of this world and I’m hoping and praying that you when you’re in prison the leak comes out what you did and they f*** you up so bad that your face will be covered with your ass with your mouth over your feet I hope they f*** you up so bad that you wish they will kill you on the spot you will low-life piece of mother f****** s*** shame on the owner for not being intelligent up to check your background that’s the problem too much trust in this f****** world 5 year judge as a f****** joke in three years suspended I just slap him on the wrist and say you on your way who knows next time I might be a child maybe we’ll give him 6 here to judge you dumb f***

  4. Filthy bastard!!!!! He could have taken that Tau Tau to a shelter at the very least: instead, he WANTED to kill him. He lied to his friend. If I were the friend I would sue for every single penny I could get. Hopefully the maggot won’t ever get out of jail. I’m glad he got 5 years, but I wish the judge had done the right thing and kept all 5 years intact and not suspended 3 of them. However, this is a step in the right direction for that part of the state, which doesn’t always take our animal cruelty laws as seriously as it should.

  5. J’espère qu’en prison il subira la même chose que se qu’il a fait à se pauvre loulou jusqu’à la fin de sa peine. Espèce de dégénèré.

  6. I hope4 he gets fudge packed nightly and never forgets a minute of it (gee I hope he doesn’t like it) He needs to serve the full 5 years…I hope inmates view animal abusers the same way I’ve heard they treat child abusers… enjoy your time….on our dime you POS dirtbag

  7. What we have here is a failure to communicate….
All that’s needed for this “gentleman” to get his head right, is a nice wooden bat & the right person to administer it, while making sure at the same time, that he understands what you are and are not allowed to do to defenseless animals, children & the elderly. My guess is after 10 questions & 10 answers, he would admit the error of his ways and beg for a chance to make it right. Why? Because he’s a pussy who can only hurt those smaller & unable to defend themselves. Without the proper incentives, he will always make the wrong choices and next time it could be a child or your grandmother…so think very hard about how these types of crimes are dealt with. If someone does not step in with corrective action sooner or later, it spirals out of control and the innocent suffer. In some cultures, justice is swift and simple and the population is fully aware of the laws- you steal, they cut your hand off, you kill & you’re killed. What does it say about a society that slaps the wrist of those who maim & murder and receive sentences that are cut below half. It says”go ahead and do as you please, I’m basically going to allow you to slip by with no punishment. And no, I do not call probation punishment- the barely have 30 minutes a month to see them, much less actually monitor them. This asshole will go right back to doing whatever it is he was doing when he murdered the little dog. I just hope he is now at least a felon- oh, but wait, he IS now?
