A dog in San Bernardino City, California, finds himself in need of a home after his new adopter abandoned him at the veterinary clinic where he was having his neuter surgery performed. The dog, dubbed Ford, is being held at the city animal control agency and he is listed as “rescue only.”

On Tuesday, Ford’s advocate explains what happened to leave him homeless at the shelter, once again…

What kind of a person would adopt a dog and then abandon him at the vet where he was sent for neuter surgery before being released to the adopter? We all know what kind of person and that person should never be allowed to adopt another animal. Can you imagine how sad this fellow must be now, being brought back to the shelter after thinking he had a home?

  1. I am VERY sorry for Ford. I hope he is rescued ASAP and rehomed into a loving furever family where he will be treated as a beloved family member.

As for the adopter who abandoned Ford at the vet……SMH…… WTF were you thinking??? Perhaps in the grand scheme of things, you did Ford a huge favor: clearly you were NOT ready for a companion animal…….

One of our rescue dogs is a Jack Russell like Ford and he is VERY active and athletic and constantly “on the move”!!!

Anyone who adopts a Jack Russell should be aware that they are VERY active and great with kids and other dogs (ours, unfortunately, is not a “cat fan”)………

  2. If you care so much about him getting adopted, WHY in the hell did you list him as “rescue only”?! He did NOTHING WRONG! Since San Bernadino is fairly close to me in Arizona, I WAS considering driving out and spending a little time with him in order to adopt him. This just makes it MORE complicated and COSTLY for the future owner. If there’s info missing about this, then SHAME ON THE POSTER!

  3. THIS WOULD BE LIKE DROPPING OFF A LOVED ONE FOR A DOCTOR’S APPOINTMENT AND THEN NEVER COMING BACK! SHEER CRUELTY AND INSANITY!
