Dozens of Shetland Sheepdogs, aka “Shelties,” have been rescued from conditions described as “appalling.” According to the Atlanta Humane Society, last week 50 Shelties were rescued after their owner’s health declined and she was no longer to provide them with proper care.
The dogs which were living at the property were flea infested, had badly matted fur, and many were suffering from anemia and painful tooth decay. All of the dogs were taken to the Atlanta Humane Society and provided with soft blankets, and much needed veterinary care.
The shelter is committed to providing these dogs with all of the veterinary care that they need to recuperate from prior neglect. Please click here if you are interested in making a donation towards their care.
