The Mojave County Sheriff’s Office Animal Enforcement Division has been conducting an ongoing investigation concerning animal hoarding complaints at two separate residences located in the Dolan Springs area. Animals running at large and attacking live stock have also been reported for the last two years.

According to the Mojave County Sheriff’s Office, the homes located on N. Garnet Drive and N. Kathleen Drive and being used by Betty Lynne Fuchsel,77, has received numerous citations listing violations; Fuchsel has failed to comply or appear in court.

A search warrant was obtained for the properties where animal control officers and staff found the floors to be covered with feces, trash and urine. Several dogs were found locked up inside of the residence, and other dogs had been locked up in vehicles located on the property – none of the animals had access to food or water.

Dogs were emaciated and in various stages of neglect. A total of 43 dogs were found and seized; several of the dogs needed emergency veterinary care. The dogs have been turned over to the Mohave County Animal Shelter.

Fuchsel has been arrested and charged for failing to appear in court for warrants as well as 43 counts of felony animal cruelty (Class 5 Felony).
